Let’s Talk

“How to clean up Indian elections?”

Apr 14, 2021

7 PM – 8 PM IST

Visiting Faculty, Kautilya
Former Executive Editor, NDTV

About the event

Elections are any country’s most important democratic exercise.

But often, despite the efforts of electoral authorities and enthusiastic participation from voters, the integrity of elections ends up getting compromised.

The problem is simple – elections have too much at stake for political parties, who go all out to improve their chances of success at the ballot.

Kautilya organized a high-powered panel discussion – involving luminaries from the world of politics, civil service & academics – which brought up several important aspects related to the conduct of free and fair elections.

‘Let’s Talk Policy’ is a panel discussion series initiated by Kautilya School of Public Policy, that brings forth a select group of panellists, sharing differing views on key issues of national and global relevance, and building the dialogue into a conversation for the student community.

The series aims to unravel major themes around democracy, politics, and human rights, and explore the challenges and rewards of implementing practices. We aim to create a cohesive platform and call on thematic experts to foster a healthy dialogue around the most-pressing issues.
