Eligibility:
Candidates seeking admission into the Ph.D. program can pursue research full-time, subject to the minimum qualification criteria. The criteria are as follows:
- The candidate must possess a Master’s in either public policy/sociology / political science/law/economics/psychology/philosophy / international relations/development studies / social work/anthropology/education / public administration/geography/securities / strategic relations etc.
- Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. program with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program.
- The candidate should have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade B in the UGC 7-point scale or the point scale followed in the concerned institute.
- However, a relaxation of 5% marks or equivalent grade is permitted for SC/ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer)/ differently-abled category candidates.
Selection Process:
- A candidate who wishes to be considered for the Ph.D. program must submit a detailed application in the prescribed form, clearly stating the motivation for joining the program and the knowledge domain of research interest.
- Candidates who have appeared/are appearing for the UGC-NET (two years from the date of the standard test and should be valid on the deadline of submission of the application form) or have taken Kautilya’s doctoral entrance examination will be shortlisted on the basis of the details in the application form and the scores of aforementioned tests.
- Only the shortlisted candidates will then be called for an interview at Kautilya Campus.
- We will finalize based on the combined scores of the interview, test, and applicant background information. We need to codify this in the coming weeks.
